This cultivation of hemp is useless as a drug crop, but as a food plant the more valuable.
Every part of the plant is edible. The picture shows a small infructescence with the achenes, the nut fruits, which are mostly called hemp seed. The seeds can be eaten raw or roasted directly. They contain all essential amino acids and many essential oils. The protein content is between 20 and 24% and exist in easily digestible form so that hemp seed is an excellent source of protein. Also hemp oil and hemp butter is pressed from the seed, and flour, hemp milk and hemp soup can be made from them. From the leaves and flowers can be extracted an essential oil, that flavoures drinks (tea, hemp beer), chocolate and other confectionary. It is furthermore helpful in many symptoms as a remedy.
Hemp is a real superfood, which is also important as a fiber plant (superior alternative to cotton) and improves the soil for other crops. Due to the wide range of possible uses, this plant would have to be one of the most important crops in the world, as in the past. Probably the abuse as a drug prevents this.
